Where to buy kids' clothes in the UAE
Start with children's clothing specialists and fashion retailers for kids' clothes in the UAE, then compare the exact garments using each child's measurements. For children roughly two to ten years old, record height, chest, waist and relevant lengths before choosing a size. Ask for the fabric and care details, confirm every piece included in a set, and read the size-exchange conditions before paying. Keep the selected size, seller's written answers and dated invoice together so you can compare the parcel with the order on arrival.

What to check in the UAE
- Consumer invoice
Ask for a dated invoice and keep it with the order confirmation. Federal Law No. 15 of 2020, Article 8(3)–(4), requires the supplier's trade name and address, goods or service details and price, and quantity where applicable. The invoice must be in Arabic; another language may be added. Compare the item description and quantity with the delivery, and ask the seller to correct any mismatch.

- Textile label evidence
Ask for a readable photograph of the garment label before ordering. MoIAT's technical requirements for textiles refer to product labelling under Cabinet Resolution No. 54 of 2019. Request the declared fabric composition and country of manufacture as product details, then compare the label with the item delivered. Keep a photo beside the order so you can raise a discrepancy with the seller before washing or wearing the garment.

- Size and fit
Measure the child's current height, chest and waist, then compare them with the chart for the exact garment. U.ae's consumer protection page lists correct product information as a consumer right. Ask whether the chart gives body measurements or garment dimensions, and request any missing sleeve, leg or overall length. Choose using the measurements relevant to that item; an age label alone leaves important fit questions unanswered.

- Fabric and care
Read the declared fabric composition and ask for care instructions for the exact item and colour. U.ae's consumer protection page identifies the right to correct product information. Compare the washing and drying instructions with your household routine, including whether pieces in a set need different care. Ask the seller to clarify an unspecified blend or unclear care symbol before paying, and save its reply with the item details.

- Seller and order identity
Record which business will issue the invoice and handle an exchange. U.ae's consumer protection page says UAE eCommerce businesses must disclose licensing details, product specifications and contract terms. Ask for the business name, contact details and registration location, especially if a listing names a separate seller. For an overseas business, confirm the applicable terms and complaint route before relying on UAE consumer protection.

- Returns before use
Read the size-exchange policy before paying and ask about deadlines, excluded items, tags and packaging. Federal Law No. 15 of 2020, Article 15, addresses contractual repair, return, replacement and refund arrangements after a defect appears. For clothing that simply does not fit, get the seller's change-of-mind conditions in writing. Keep those conditions with the selected size, and leave the garment unworn while assessing its fit.

- Checking the delivery
Inspect the delivery against the item reference, colour, size and number of pieces ordered. Federal Law No. 15 of 2020, Article 12, provides defect remedies, subject to the implementing regulation. Photograph a visible fault or incorrect item before washing it, then contact the seller with the order reference and a clear description. Ask how to report the problem and retain the reply, invoice and photographs together until it is resolved.

Before you pay
Take this to the store
- Date each child's measurement note and record height, chest, waist and useful garment lengths. Refer to the note while choosing each item, and label saved charts with their item references so a chart from one garment is not applied to another.
- List what the child needs for school, indoor wear, outdoor activities and occasions. For a school uniform, obtain the school's specification before ordering. Match each missing piece to a use and a size rather than buying several similar sets.
- Save the selected size, colour, fabric description and return conditions before paying. On arrival, compare the label and contents with that record while the garments are unworn. Keep tags and packaging until you have assessed the fit and understood the return process.
- For a younger sibling up to twenty-four months, use the baby-clothes buying page. Keep baby items on a separate list and match each child's clothes to their own measurements, including different sizes for tops and trousers where the charts call for them.
- For a multipack, write down every included piece, its size and its colour. Compare that list with the parcel contents on arrival. Keep an itemised record when splitting an order between siblings so you can identify which garment needs an exchange.
Questions
Which size should I order for a five-year-old?
Measure the child's height, chest and waist and use the chart for the exact garment. Ask whether it shows body or garment measurements and request missing lengths. Compare a useful existing garment too, but confirm the new item's dimensions instead of assuming the same age label gives the same fit.
What fabric details should I ask for online?
Request the declared composition and a readable care label for the item and colour selected. Compare washing and drying instructions with your routine, and ask about unclear blends or symbols. Save the reply and compare it with the delivered label before putting the clothes into use.
Can I exchange clothes if the size does not fit?
Read the seller's size-exchange policy before paying. Ask about the deadline, excluded garments and the condition required for tags and packaging. Keep the clothes unworn while assessing fit and retain the policy with the order, so you can follow the agreed process if another size is needed.
What paperwork should I keep for children's clothing?
Keep the dated invoice, item reference, selected size and colour, fabric description and return conditions together. For a UAE purchase, ask for the Arabic invoice; another language may appear alongside it. Record the business handling the order and retain written answers about any missing details.
What if the delivered clothes differ from my order?
Photograph the incorrect size, colour, item or missing piece before washing or wearing the clothes. Contact the seller with the order reference and saved specification, describe the difference and ask for the applicable resolution process. Keep its response, the invoice and packaging together.
How do I choose clothes for siblings of different ages?
Make a separate measurement note for each child and compare each garment's chart with that note. Confirm the size and quantity of every piece in a shared order. For a child up to twenty-four months, use the baby-clothes buying page and keep baby sizes separate from clothing for ages two to ten.
